Use Trial Version Software Even After Trial Period

In this software pool section, I will keep posting the best software which are my collection and which I use in my PC that are worthy and essential for a PC users like you my friends, So, stay tuned to this blog of ours. All the software share here are 100% working, virus-free, as they are my collection of software which I use in my PC.

Today, let us see how we can bye-pass the trial version limiatation by the software. We al do know that there are many software which can work only for a while, that is for around one month or 10 days only called as the trial period. Once after the trial period has expired, these programs stop working and requires user to purchase the product from the product store. So, several users don't want this to happen!!!

Before we move in to the article about how to make it work for longer time, we first do need to understand what is trial license and how does that work. I will try to explain this in brief.

When the software programs are installed in the system, they create an entry into the Windows Registry with the details such as Installation Date and Time, installation location etc. After the installation, every time you use the software program, it will compares the current system date and time with the installed date and time. In this way, it identifies whether the trial has been expired or not.

So, for these reasons, we cannot run the trial software forever just by manually changing the system date to an earlier date compatible for the trial time. For this purpose, there is a small software tool called as RunAsDate.

What is runasdate? RunAsDate is a small utility software that allows us to run a program in the date and time that we specify. This utility won't change the current system date, or time, but it only injects the date/time that we specify into the application we desired.

RunAsDate software utility intercepts the system calls that which returns the current date and time (GetSystemTime, GetLocalTime, GetSystemTimeAsFileTime), and replaces it with the time date we specify rather than current date/time. It works with Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista 7 and 8.

Steps to use the Trial Program Forever:-
  1. Note the date and time of the software when it first installed
  2. Once after the trial period has expired, you must always run the software using RunAsDate.
  3. Do not run the software(program) directly after trial period. If you run the software directly even once, this trick may no longer work.
  4. It is good and safe to inject the date of the last day in the trial period.
For example, if the trial period of the software expires on Feb 03 1993, always inject the date as Feb 02 1993 in the RunAsDate. Please share your opinions in the comment below.
