A canadian developer company called THALMIC LABS, have introduced a new wearable technology called MYO GESTURE CONTROL, with which we can control our computer or any supported devices just with the movement of our arm, all we need to do is just wear the wearable myo arm band on our arm, and then it takes care of everything required.
The idea of MYO came after exploring various wearable technologies while working on a navigation help for the blind with such technology. There is no headache of calibration, sense-camera or radiation harm, since the myo gesture control technology is designed in such a way that it does no harm.
The EMG sensors called Electromyography sensors which can sense the movements of the muscle cells by pre-activating them with electrical pulses. After activation, the movements can be sensed very well by the sensors. The various movements like finger twitches, wavings, forearm, back-arm movements are sensed and in addition to this, the speed and body movements are accounted as well with the use of accelerometer, magnetometer, gyrosensor. The salient features are the powerful ARM Cortex M4 processor, energy-efficient bluetooth v4.0, micro-usb charging, ios and android api support, windows and mac OS platform support, so as a whole, this is a greater technology we should use, and the price is just 149 dollars.
